What's New in DVD Subtitling and Captioning

What do the Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac and Paul Simon all have in common with Halo 2? No they are not secret characters in the game that you can blow up, and no they are not included on the game’s soundtrack. The answer is NCI, and the services provided are translation and subtitling in various languages. Concerts by the Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mac and Paul Simon are being released on DVD by Eagle Rock Entertainment. NCI is providing subtitles in French Canadian and Latin American Spanish. Each concert features 75 minutes of nothing but classic rock as each musician jams the night away playing a collection of their best works.

NCI was also selected to subtitle a bonus DVD distributed with Halo 2, the fastest grossing video game to date with first day sales of over $100 million. Halo 2 has become the big craze for people of all ages, as it is an exciting first person humans vs. aliens shoot-em-up battle-style game. The bonus DVD, which comes with the Limited Collector's Edition, contains a documentary, featurettes on game design and animation, commentaries by the developmental team, and deleted scenes. NCI provided translations and subtitles for the DVD in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Korean.
