DESCRIPTIVE
EDITOR
We are currently seeking Description Editors in our Tyson's Corner,
Virginia office.
The Description Editor is part of a team that creates
written descriptions of visual images for broadcast television, cable,
commercials, and home video productions, and, as assigned,
creates closed captions and subtitles for similar media.
SHIFTS: 7:00 AM - 3:30PM, Monday - Friday,
3:30 PM - Midnight, Monday - Friday
Undergraduate degree required, preferably in English, Communications,
Media or Visual Arts.
Excellent English language skills including broad
vocabulary, knowledge of correct grammar and sentence structure.
Broad understanding of language in the American culture
(including the use of idioms and idiomatic construction).
Accurate editing/proofing skills.
Typing speed of approximately 40 wpm.
Basic computer and Internet research skills including word processing and
windows functions.
Must be prepared to work in a deadline driven environment.
Previous editing and proofreading experience is helpful.
Successful completion of descriptive and proofreading tests as well as
training program.
