DVD  Subtitling

Producing quality DVD subtitles requires a skilled blend of translation and editing skills supported by state-of-the-art technology.  NCI, together with its London facility, the European Captioning Institute (ECI), provides a single source for all of your DVD subtitling needs.

Quality control consists of an in-house review of completed work with two native speakers of the target language, cross-checked by a native speaker of the source language who is most familiar with local idioms (time permitting).  Finally, an external review by qualified proofreaders is performed.

To ensure the best translations, we employ native speakers who regularly return to their country of origin to maintain fluency in their respective languages.  Each translation is carefully edited to allow a comfortable reading speed for the viewer while maintaining the meaning and impact of the spoken word.  We pay careful attention to quality and details.  Names of places and people, as well as technical terms, are researched to verify correct spellings in each language.

NCI’s technology is state-of-the-art.  Dedicated workstations specifically designed to accommodate multiple language translation subtitling are used.  Both NTSC and PAL standards are supported

NCI and ECI provide translation and subtitling in the following languages.

English Polish Greek Portuguese
Italian Arabic Romanian Danish
Welsh Cantonese Czech Norwegian
Swedish French Slovenian Hungarian
Finnish Spanish Mandarin Icelandic
Croatian Turkish German Bulgarian
Russian Hebrew Dutch Thai
