LIVE DISPLAY CAPTIONER (TV CAPTIONER)

Live Display Captioner sought by the National Captioning Institute, a nonprofit company, to prepare and broadcast closed captions for news and entertainment TV programs for the benefit of the deaf and hard of hearing.  A Live Display Captioner transcribes directly from audio components of video productions, inputs text, proofreads, and prepares captions for program broadcast.  Current opening in the Tyson’s corner, Virginia office.

Undergraduate degree required.  A field related to English, Communications or Journalism preferred.  Applicant must possess excellent English/proofreading skills and accurate typing skills.  Previous editing and proofreading experience is helpful.  Familiarity with Spanish preferred.
