of hearing, blind or have low vision. Friends of NCI provides an opportunity
for you to help support and expand the work of NCI with your donations.
For over two decades, Friends of NCI has
helped make possible the full range of NCI's activities. And now, with
our dynamic and expanding array of education and outreach activities
on the Internet, in the classroom and in communities across the country,
your support profoundly impacts the lives of millions of American as
never before.
It's true! Friends of NCI is a pillar of
financial support for ongoing work of the NCI Foundation, which includes:
- Increasing the number of captioned and described programs
- Enhancing the technology used to deliver captioning
and description
- Helping educators use captioning in classrooms to teach
English and improve literacy
- Publishing and distributing up-to-date informational
materials, including our newsletter, News from the NCI Foundation.
Contributors also have an opportunity to
provide feedback to NCI about programming that needs to be captioned
and described.
