Videoconference Captioning

What is Videoconference Captioning?

NCI designed a special real-time captioning service to meet the unique needs of corporate and government videoconferences. Working from NCI facilities or satellite locations, an NCI-trained real-time captioner provides live captioning during the entire scheduled conference time. The NCI captioner works from a video feed, when available, or from an established telephone audio line.

Videoconference Captioning Features

  • The highest quality real-time captioning available
  • Engineering support during all live events
  • Scheduling flexibility due to NCI's large captioning staff
  • Satellite and fiber optic feed capability
  • Competitive rates
  • Reputation for outstanding quality and service
  • Transcript option

This Means

  • Ability of people who are deaf or hard of hearing to participate in the videoconference
  • Improved comprehension of material by all audience members due to the ability to read what is being said
  • Quality captioning at an affordable cost § Your company or government agency is in compliance with ADA or Section 508 rules.

How do I arrange for real-time captioning?

NCI's requirements to begin captioning are very simple. Call an NCI marketing representative with the following information.

  • Date, time and length of program, including run-over possibilities
  • Technical contact names and phone numbers
  • Information on access to the program feed

If a video feed is not available, a dedicated audio feed must be established.
